Software Synths for C64 and other vintage computers?

Apart of Mssiah Monosynth and Cynthcart I got Music Machine cartridge wich is kind a soft synth, also loving Electrosound and Synth Music Editor. What else is there for C64? Is there any softsynths for Amigas and Ataris?

On C64 I used Midislave V1.1 by Triad and MyMidi by Shape.

Hi Mr.PastGlory, thanks for reply. What kind of midi interface you used to run those programs?

C-Lab, JMS and Steinberg.

Hereīs the link for midislave: http://www.df.lth.se/~triad/triad/ftp/MIDI/
Thereīs a readme as .txt, too.
Far as I remember it worked on my old breadbin with the Steinberg Interface and on my C64II with the C-Lab Interface.

MyMidi supported various Interfaces. Thereīs a selection screen on startup of the prog on which You can select from a choice of various common MIDI Interfaces. http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=56275

Another programm I used on C64 in the early 90s was Soundbooster by Midas. A tracker software, no MIDI support, but it used to have a keyboard mode in which You could test the sounds You created.

A softsynth I used on my Amiga was Aegis Sonix. Hereīs a nice video I found on youtube about this prog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8JPSeoAXAM

Sorry, but I couldnīt find any pictures on the web of the interface I use and there is no plate or sticker on it which says PRO~%$ or something ... and flash based websites make me dizzy ...

... so I took some pics:

Something different, before others start to correct me about the Aegis Sonix I used on my Amiga. I only used the synth-section but this programm is much more ... You can make complete tunes with this programm. But not in a cryptic hex tracker style, it used notation composing. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybZZXyZzOu0

Re: Software Synths for C64 and other vintage computers?

Got it going. It's not nearly as good as I expected it to be. It sometimes misses commands so you get a lost note here or a stuck note there, though it's still quite good for my dodgy techniques.

The schematic for the MIDI interface says the only optoisolator you can use is a PC900. I got it going with a 4N28. Just replace the 270 ohm resistor with a 6k8 one.

Unfortunately I can't record many long tracks in Audacity as it locks up, so I can't sample the different instruments and mix them into a single MP3.

Maybe if I had 16 Commodore's and 16 MIDI interfaces smile

Have you tried the German eBay? That may throw up something.
