Maurice Randall will lose his distribution license.

huh? doesn't he also own the intellectual property rights, as well as all the original CMD stock/parts?

well, there was a new 'stereo SID' cart available last year from Fotios:

http://www.cbm8bit.com/fotios/fbss.php

sold out pretty quickly, not sure if he's doing another run of them. he did just fine selling them without SID installed...

I do know who the new CMD US distributor is and Im now working on hopefully buying the rights to the Sid Symphony or at least Distribution rights, but until Mark Fellows gets the new CMD distributor going this project is on hold.

please explain this... what exactly will they be 'distributing'? big_smile i've heard some of CMD's most appealing devices (SuperCPU, RAMLink, etc) can't even be produced these days due to many of their chips, etc being discontinued over the years. what are you on about?

Re: Release anytime soon...

Here is an email I received from him a couple weeks ago....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Christian,

Yes, I hope to assemble at least 20 new FB-StereoSID cartridges within the next week or two.

It will be the last 20 FB-SSID units I make as I can no longer source the +5V to +9/12V step up voltage converter that I used in this design.

I will send you an email when I have these assembled.

Regards
Fotios

So there you have it, he will have only 20 of them, and I am already getting the 12 volt version and the 9 volt version for the 2 sid types, so unless we can find more step up voltage converters that he can use that will be it.

Re: Release anytime soon...

There was no confirmation email.

If you have submitted a preorder, read this:
If you placed a preorder and did not receive a confirmation email, do not worry! No preorder email confirmations were sent.
We get lots of email from people wondering if their preorders were registered or not. Trust us, if this form said your preorder was submitted, it was and we have it! You do not need to email us to check!

Re: Release anytime soon...

well, i'd imagine if they're shipping Tonka's cart this week then it shouldn't be more than a few weeks until everyone else is able to get it. i sure hope so at least.

Re: Release anytime soon...

Prepare to wait just as long as things may take...  FTFM: "...a system test we perform on all cartridges". It's not like they're sending the carts directly out of the plant to the preorderers...
