Re: Release anytime soon...

Come on guys.
As someone told me once, if you're bored waiting, get your ass up and build something else if you're so skilled to get c64 up and running.
There's awfully lot more other, not less interesting projects around to build and enjoy.
Let the guys do their project without stress.

They know it long ago that mssiah is hot and lot of us want it.

Best to all.

Re: Release anytime soon...

build our own MSSIAH carts? who said they're *that* skilled? why do you think we're here? and what other project is more interesting? face it, they screwed up giving those early launch dates. still nothing...

Re: Release anytime soon...

don't get me wrong, i agree that their sticking to announced release dates in not their strongest point.

Also building mssaih, unfortunately,  is not possible: first of all, because mssiah being a copyrighted and closed source project, and secondly because originals or schematics simply not available to copy from.

what other project is more interesting?... heh, just look around.
i'd suggest searching 'DIY audio or DIY synth' in your favorite search engine big_smile
it all depends on matter of personal interest.

Re: Release anytime soon...

yeah, there's a lot of DIY synth projects out there. they're sure as hell not MSSIAH, which is what we're 'complaining' about. what's your point?

Re: Release anytime soon...

I'm keeping myself busy with LSDJ and my Prosound DMG-01 Gameboy. smile Also I'm looking at getting a NESMIDI cart... looks like fun.
I also have been playing around with GEOS and my 1750 REU I am pretty sure if there isnt any extra hardware in the Mssiah Cart then I could probably put the Rom chip for it into my REU and boot with ramdisk functions... although I would probably have to hack it to use that extra space.

I voted for dark grey also.

Hi. I'm new. smile

I've been waiting for Mssiah to come out since it was announced. Another month won't be all that bad. Anyway, I filled out the pre-order form.

Are you shure? I'd prefer contrast over kinda-similar-but-not-exactly-the-same-tone tongue

Re: Release anytime soon...

Yeah, i know what you mean, and i agree to some point.
But i got my cartridge expanderboard connected with my commodore, and i planing to have the messiah connected together with my other carts and the light grey colour fits better to them too.

Itīs all about my kind of "nerdy" taste for colours anyway.

Great forum BTW, quick replys , just the way i like it!!!!!big_smile

Re: Release anytime soon...

Hi I was new here last year.

Im voting for Dark Grey for the Mssiah.

Hey 8-bit ventures will deliver and keep their promise.

In the United States Maurice Randall the guy that took over CMD distribution in 2001 will totally not get his products out the door at all and is a total bonehead to deal with.

count your blessings at least 8-bit ventures will promise a date and will communicate with their customers, Maurice Randall doesnt even know the word "communicate".

So you guys think you have it bad waiting for Mssiah try to deal with a moron like Maurice Randall at CMDRKEY hes a lot worse, and that is the truth.

Hey you have an expander board are you talking about a Cartridge port expander?
Do you own a CMD Sid Symphony Stereo cartridge?  If you do try enabling that and your Prophet 64 and see if those will coexist together and use the extra 3 voices, instead of using the sid to sid.

I have a Sid symphony but not cartridge port expander so I cant try that.

That might depend if you pay early enough before they do run out.

Hi Nuse:

This was originally sold in the U.S. by Creative Micro Designs till about late 2000 or 2001 and CMD because of low sales dropped this unit for sales.
Then of course in 2001 Maurice Randall (in the U.S.) bought the CMD distribution rights and "was at one point" going to make the Sid Symphony Stereo Cartridge available again, only without the Sid chip (uses 8580 sid circuit).  But Maurice never did get any of these boards made up.

Due to poor mangaging, poor communication, not getting his products out the door,  Maurice Randall will lose his distribution license.

Maurice has filled many orders but neglected to fill them leaving many customers hanging so  I hope that can be cleared up.
I know Alan Bairstow in England had many hardware orders and Maurice left Alan high and dry and Alan had to eat the cost, (lots of money).

So right now the Sid Symphony Cartridge is not available, and the main problem is trying to find the Sid chips for them, so if I can get a large amount of Sid chips that would help to make this cool device available again.

Originally in the U.S. this device evolved from the original  DR Evil Labs  Sid Cartridge, this cartridge needed a 9volt battery to power it, but sometime I think it was in the early 90's CMD bought the rights to the DR Evil Labs Sid cartride and made the following changes:

Cartridge draws power from cartridge port
updated to use the 8580 Sid chip
Put in cool looking Black cartridge
new label:  Sid Symphony Stereo Cartridge

Also contains a RCA out female plug you can install a Y RCA adapter to plug this into either an Amp or different speakers.

I do know who the new CMD US distributor is and Im now working on hopefully buying the rights to the Sid Symphony or at least Distribution rights, but until Mark Fellows gets the new CMD distributor going this project is on hold.

I may also be distributing other CMD software but am not at any liberty to say what yet.

Stay tuned.
