when the prophet64 was a free software, there used to be seperate wav files for installations of the programs.. since the cart is released, the wav files are not in the FREE VERSIONS package, but the link says "including manuals, wav files, disk images".. i don't have money to buy the cart, plus i only want to use the monosynth for live purposes for now.. anyone got the tape image or the wav file for it? please please let me have it.. (i just got a hd crash so my backups are gone, so i need the wav files)
since the free versions are now coming in d64 format, it's impossible to run them on the real c64 with a datasette, because when converting d64 files to tape files, everything messes up, so the convertion doesn't work.. please send me the old wav versions if you have it!
PM me!

Somewhere there is software that converts d64s to wave files... i kid you not.

Whilst that's true, it's not really the best method. Trust me, i've done it!! You can't convert a .D64 that has multiple programs on it as far as I know, only .prg files can be converted.
I now use an XE1541 cable, which allows a DOS bootable partition on my harddrive to act as a virtual disk drive. That way you get slightly faster transer and better reliability. It is possible to load the programs from disk, and then before running them, just type SAVE"PROPHET", which will save the MONO to tape, although this is obviously not the most clever thing to do, since you'd need an XE1541 in the first place so you wouldn't need a tape! The MONO program takes I think 54 seconds of .wav information (2.5MB), so it's not exactly a big file.
If you give me an email address, I can mail you a copy of the WAV file if you like.

I kept the free edition from the previous version, if you ever need I can scan my HD. In .D64. No way for the WAVs

This only works for programs under 154 blocks (between memory addresses $0801 - $9FFF), otherwise you'll be saving the ROM image of the BASIC interpreter.
Not sure how big MONOSYNTH is, though... so it might work.

I have the impression that the Boorch uses a tapedeck only. Not sure why, but it might have to do with his tight budget or the impracticallity of dragging a fragile, big and heavy diskdrive to a gig.

Well, it definitely works for a number of programs that i've tried but they're all relatively small in size. I did it with the MONO just to see if it can be done, and it can so that's nice.
I can't see me ever taking a tape drive to a gig, it's just not reliableb or fast enough (mid-set crash?!). Maybe as a last resort perhaps, but if I gigged the Prophet64 i'd use an MMC64 or something. I dig the tight budget though, that was part of the reason for my experiments with the tape drive. Unfortunately the heads aren't properly aligned so it only really works with tapes I record on it. Gotta get a smaller screwdriver!

You can simply extract the prg's from the D64 using Starcommander. And they are also alot other tools to extract the prg-files. Just use your favourite search-engine and feed it with D64 extracting or similar.
Then you use waveprg to make the wave-file.

i, by chance, have a tape recorder and the header speed is -yes, by chance- exactly same as my c64 tape..
i use cynthcart live, with c64 tape, and used monosynth live, with c64 tape
then for a year, i didn't touch my c64 because of personal problems (school, band etc.)
now i'm coming down back
i'll just remember everything again with the wav files (if i have them still)
then maybe i'll buy p64 cartridge
thanks for all your help
we'll meet again..
