amiga mouse right click mod

i bought a mouse today which seemed like a 1351 at first sight but when i got home and tried it on sequencer, i realized it was an amiga mouse. it works ok except the right click, i have added another button on my c64 which has cables soldered directly to f5  to act like a right click. smile

my question is: is there a way to modify my amiga mouse to work with right click?
or at least, can i do it like, i'll solder a cable between the button i added later and the pin of the joyport which receives the signal from the right click? if so, which pin is for the right click?

www.bigmech.com/misc/c64mods/ctrlport2.htm
AlphA already did it, again wink He puts a 22K resistor between pin 7/9 of the joy port.

I didn't pay much attention on this part of his mod but now actually I think about building a 'resistored' adapter cable to plug in between my C64 and the optical amiga mouse I got big_smile

Re: amiga mouse right click mod

well is there any way to do this mod to the mouse, not to the c64? the last time i opened to mod my c64, i had great TROUBLE fitting everything inside the case (such as a little gamepad system that's shorted to joy port2 and an extra buttons horted to f5, for the times i didn't have a mouse and don't want to carry a big joystick everywhere)

Re: amiga mouse right click mod

Yeah, you can build a SUB-D extension cable and put the resistor inside one of the SUB-D shells? Leaving both, C64 and mouse, untouched...

Re: amiga mouse right click mod

YEAH i just put a 22k resistor between pins 7 and 9 in my amiga mouse, and the right click works flawlessly!

Very nice smile do you still have to select amiga-mouse in the 'settings' menu, or does it work in 1351-mode so you can hold down 'C='-key while loading Sequencer to autoselect mouse-mode ??

Re: amiga mouse right click mod

The resistor mod just enables the right button, it doesn't transform an amiga mouse to a 1351.
But do you still  need to select the "right mouse button" from the menu options? Guess so...

How about the "SHUT DOWN COMPUTER" menu option - it doesn't save the mouse settings, right?

Sounds reasonable... hehe. i guessed the only difference in fact was the right-click issue, but it was a too optimistic guess tongue
