Monosynth VST

All done smile

http://www.audiosonic.dk/private/photos/monosynth.png

Bassline VST - http://www.prophet64-forum.com/viewtopic.php?id=1247
Waveplayer VST - http://www.prophet64-forum.com/viewtopic.php?id=1249

Same deal, works like a charm, will probably end up as donation-ware for 10$

Re: Monosynth VST

Well, to make a long story short; my gfx-guy is just too dodgy sad he's busy with a lot of other stuff, so this is taking forever... The worst thing is when he feels pressured he shuts off completely instead of just informing me that he needs a break... in the process there has been tons of times where i cannot reach him at all... very unprofessional.... I myself have taken a liking towards another SID-based community on the net, so i'm not comming by here so often anymore... another thing is that the interest among users here have been dissaperaring, maybe because it took so long people have found alternatives, i don't know...

Two decisions is on my mind atm;
1) if anyone would lend a hand skinning the last 2 VSTs i could easily be convinced to continue my work. Please PM me if that's the case
2) Should i abandon the whole project, or should i just draw the line and make the 3 present VSTs available?

This is pretty sad, and i'm sorry that the project will not be finished, but i'd like some feedback on wether to drop the whole deal or if people would still find waveplayer, bassline and monosynth VSTs to be usefull even if drummer and sequencer is missing ??

Re: Monosynth VST

That's a shame that they may not be completed.  I would definitely find the others useful though, especially monosynth and bassline.  Seems a shame to have got so far with the drummer and sequencer only to abandon them at the skinning stage - anyone step in (beyond my expertise unfortunately)?  They don't have to look pretty, just functional!

Re: Monosynth VST

Also, I would imagine that the interest hasn't disappeared, but that people are just waiting patiently and quietly!  Come on guys - show your support!  I can;t imagine many people *not* finding these vsts useful.

Re: Monosynth VST

Oh, man.... 8bit-meta, would it be okay even if the drummer and sequencer VSTs had their std blue skin?? They would surely be cheaper then smile but as the stuff is not finished in the nice way i hoped for to start with i seriously am considering to release it all in a single cheaper pack!!!

Re: Monosynth VST

Yes! Any skin, as long as they work and I can see what I'm doing!  Like I say, shame to waste the effort so far, and will be just as useful, no matter how they look wink

Sure smile http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid.html (be sure to check the video-clips!)
And here's my current state of progress http://www.audiosonic.dk/private/midibox/ (gonna boost it's RAM today to achieve 896 presets, and soon it will get 2 extra SIDs too)
Here a MSSIAH forum member explains a bit about it http://www.prophet64-forum.com/viewtopic.php?id=838 but really, you have to check out the site yourself to get a full picture of what a Midibox SID is capable of... let's just say that i own several expensive professional synths, and none of them can stand a feature comparison with my baby SIDbox wink but i'm not really allowed to talk about it on these forums.... Some can, because they are respected... i'm nobody; if i talk of such things here people just think i'm putting down MSSIAH, i'm trolling in the forum or i don't have the faintest idea about what i'm saying! Just like here http://www.prophet64-forum.com/viewtopic.php?id=1293 Imagine that dudes would rather buy an expensive controller just to hack it instead of spending about $30 on a fullfeatured selfbuilt midi interface the size of a pack of cigarettes that would fit in the C64 without problems... This is actually what drove me to venture for more serious places to play with SID chips, this forum is great and has tons of cool guys but a few is venomous liars, like that guy who kept telling me off about this R8 resistor like i was a dumbass (http://www.prophet64-forum.com/viewtopic.php?id=1131) and i asked him to take a photo of it (+some photos of all new mods he just magically came up with) but 'suddenly' his 'camera just died', just when he had to take those pictures for me... i was very pissed (http://www.prophet64-forum.com/viewtopic.php?id=1199)

Nevertheless i love this place for all it is (i am a C64 enthusiast after all) and all it's members, but i could do without the childish pecking order and the occational wannabees wink It's like the more C64-knowledge one has, the more respect he demands.. and a few actually goes so far that they lie or guess about facs just to look wise and get respected

PS. i still never saw a 8580-based mainboard featuring the R8 resistor, even though i've been called dumb for not just accepting it (??!??!??!) The fact is that it's actually present in the schematics BUT with a comment saying to leave it out on 8580-based boards... so when someone says he has it in his C64 i get curious, nothing wrong with that, right?

Well this is the wrong place and the wrong way to spill all this, but i have no status anyways so nothing to lose smile and quite frankly, if you get offended by this you might be in the category described anyway wink

Re: Monosynth VST

Flemming, I would love to use these, skinned or not.  About using them with Linux/Wine--could you outline the process briefly?  I've got a Wine installation that works with other MIDI apps, but I'd like to see what else might be involved for VST.  Thanks!
