Re: C64TPC - tested working with MSSIAH

I just bought one of these off Awol.  I got it to work out of a serial port on an old laptop of mine, however it won't work 100% through a serial to usb adapter that I bought.

I can save disk images, including ones with p64 songs in them, but I cannot load through the adapter.

Is there something I can try, or something that I may be doing wrong?  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Is it still not working, or have you had any luck with it, Tenfold?

Here's my post from this thread on 8bc (you never responded so I don't know if you saw it):

Are you using the right power supply? Are you using the proper settings for the virtual serial port (described in the manual)? Out of curiosity, what adapter are you using?

Re: C64TPC - tested working with MSSIAH

i bought a 9v dc adapter with 500ma for my c64tpc but i can`t get it to work.i saved 2 projects to d64 image,but i can`t load them back to the sequencer.
is it possible that the 500ma is not enough for the tpc?

i don`t know, but my ac adapter`s output is 9v/1000ma and it works. have you tried to save/load directly to a folder instead to an image? maybe the image is damaged.

in general, i am quite happy with c64tpc.
loading/saving times in sequencer are relatively fast and the software is easy to use.
i succesfully loaded a few old games, unfortunately i had no luck with this great newer c64 demo(http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=31666).

but as always, there is a but:
sometimes the software crashes during loading/saving. i cant reproduce it, its just sometimes.
since i work with win7 64-bit the crashes are rare, with xp 64-bit it crashed more often.
i dont know if it happend during saving, but i have one damaged .arr file. its filesize is 8kb instead of 20kb, so its easy to recognize in the explorer. at the end of a session i simply save twice and always consecutively numbered.
hmm. what else? ah, connected with the included serial cable, so no usb-experience.

as a hobby-mssiah, all in all i can recommend c64tpc!
