Soul of the Commodore

Hey guys,

Here are some pics of a custom build I did for Nick from "Soul of the Machine"

This one is special because I put brushed metal vinyl around the keyboard to match the knobs.

It has all the usual mods (4pot x/y, SID2SID, Noise reduction, Feedback with 2 pots for independant control of each SID, Blue LED, joyport 2 kill switch, and a pretty white paintjob - boy that was hard to keep clean during re-assembly!)

Peace.

Am I the only guy who makes hip-hop with SID Chips?

Re: Soul of the Commodore

Dude, I haven't forgotten. This one was on my bench for the last 3 weeks. (It was a nightmare at the end, I had all the mods done before I found out the first motherboard I put in here had some terrible ground noise that I simply could not get rid of, so I had to scrap it and start all-over again on a new board)

Oh Hey, by the way, I may have some new 6581r4 soon. keep you posted...

And I guess we probably missed the deadline for your show, but you'll have a bitchin' commodore key-tar in no time. I have another 40 SIDs I'm testing and shipping out, and yours will be the last commodore I do for a while.

I spent so much time working on these things over the last few months, I'm looking forward to actually making some music with them now!

did you hear the new song I uploaded yesterday? "Too Late" it's on my myspace: http://myspace.com/djjonnyjams

Re: Soul of the Commodore

No sweat, man! For the show this weekend, we're bringing nothing but 2 C64s (one mssiah, one cynthcart), and a couple analog drum toys. Nice and minimal.

I know what you mean about spending all your time working on gear when you should be making music with that gear!

Yeah, i heard that song, i really dig it! Nice slow jam for the summer. =]

Cool, keep us posted on the SIDs, one of these days we'll get around to doing our sid2sids..
