Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

Since P64 was reported to use the standard load/save routines I got no idea why it shouldn't...

What Ron says.

If everything is under control, you're not going fast enough.

Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

The laptop runs Windows 98. But you have to start in DOS mode. Then you have to "mount" an already existing .d64 image to save onto. (just change in the bat-file).

Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

i would also like to see how this works!  i just bought the boot up disc yesterday and the XE1541 cable.  i'm running on windows 2000 though.  i hope it works.  it'll be awhile until i actually get the stuff so i should learn before it gets here.

Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

i got 64hdd working!
the key to make your 4hdd work is to be sure your cable is ok and to know EXACTLY what mhz is your cpu at..
i was using the +p 1500 command and 64hdd was hanging on "searching for $" part..
so i tried vc1541 and it autodetected my cpu as 1498 mhz.. it didn't work either
so i tried 64hdd with the parameter +p 1498 and voila! it works flawlessly!

Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

Yeah, I remember that now. I had to use a string of parameters to get mine working too.

Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

Yes it works...I use this for a few years already...You can even run on XP and other WIN NT OS(because it runs in Dos before booting your OS) maybe not Vista because no more Dos I think on this OS, but not sure, I've not tested Vista yet...The pdf's how to proceed(diskboot,etc..)and the 64hdd software, here...cool

Re: XE1541 & 64HDD

Can you use a parallel to usb adapter with this cable?  Or will that not work?
