Another quick question, can I use a keyboard overlay like the incredible musical keyboard to play live in the sequencer? does it use q2w3e4rt6y?.

Re: qwerty

it does use that, BUT, not the whole top row.  test it and see.

also, how would you play it live?  Go into instrument editor and play there? any tables that are synced to time will only work if the sequencer is playing.. i guess you could do that..

you would not have much range though.

Re: qwerty

I play 'live' with sequencer quite a bit.

You just select an empty pattern block on an otherwise unused channel and play along within the instrument editor. P64 wont jump unless you then open the pattern editor because it keeps the instrument editor in memory. This means you can loop different bits of a sequence and play along with it.

It's not ideal but it is fun. smile

Re: qwerty

Forget that noise

Go buy a Cynthcart and play it on a second commodore alongside the P64 one.

thats how I roll.

It uses the overlay, has 0 latency, 3 channel polyphony, AND a hex editor so you can tweak your sounds

Re: qwerty

Hey guys, I am using Cynthcart 1.1, but I'm unsure how to make any use of the SID hex editor - is there somewhere I can get a list of which addresses control what functions?  I have a book that has a list of registers, but is says things like "registers 4, 11, and 18 control waveform" and it lists examples... so I entered SID editing mode and typed in 04>FF, thinking that would change voice 1 to noise... no effect.  In fact, I can sit there and type stuff in at random more or less for quite some time and still nothing seems to change.

I think I'm missing a concept here.  If all else fails I'll just sit down and read the programmer's reference guide until I understand :-)

Re: qwerty

If there were a Cynthcart forum I'd of asked this there, I know.  But it doesn't exist and you Prophet64 folks seem knowledgeable of the SID :-)

Anway, nevermind... I think I figured out the answer on my own.

Anodyne, I think what Firestarter meant was to post it in the Off Topic section.
