A case for the interface

jbuonacc wrote:

now we've got to design a good functional case for it. smile

(this is a reply to a message in the "midi-interface available"-thread. I moved it here so firestARTer doesn't have to do it:)

Yes!!! Here in Finland it can be quite cold in the winter, which means that the air gets very dry, and this means that it is very very easy to get static shocks from metallic items such as door handles. At least I get shocks all the time when it's winter, the shocks even generate visible sparks, and they feel very annoying. I can only imagine what would happen to the delicate circuits of an ultra-cool Prophet64 MIDI-interface when handling it when there's -25 Celsius outside. A protective case is a must. If and when I get my interface, I'll definetely have to protect it somehow or it won't survive even a single Finnish winter.

I'm going to beg a carpenter friend to make me an oak one. smile

Until then I think a sawn-off video cassette case will have to do.

Re: A case for the interface

I love the FS interface.  SDR load-save couldn't be handier (especially since I don't have any alternative storage available).

It allows for real easy sequencer integration, simpler than using a diskette drive (be it ultimate or not) since you can save your settings within your sequencer project via sysex. Does the mssiah take advantage of SDR? if not, it's a real shame.

I'm so happy with the fs interface that I haven't really looked at the mssiah at all.

Anybody know how many units were produced?

Re: A case for the interface

As far as i know until now, SDR is also usable with MSSIAH. So the Interfaces are still usable!!!

I could maybe (if i got a non lazy day) a SDR only simple midi interface (as DIY).
But lets check the MSSIAH first and i will come back with it to see if there is demand. (maybe even with SDR on/from audio support then)
