Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

No demos sorry, it's anti-piracy thing. I know who bought plugs so they never get cracked. Plus I'm too lazy to code demo versions smile
Plugins works like a dream (on Windows XP and W7) I sold few and no complains so far.( Except some keyboard GUI glitch on monosynth but it's fixed now.) I need to get my lazy ass working on promised Bassline.
For any qustions and problems I'm here to help and always will be.

The reason why I want to test a demo version first is not to try if it's compatible or not, it's only because I want to see if I have any needs for it, i.e. does it really simplify the work that much that it's worth it? I know, it's not big bucks, but I've got plenty of other things to put my money on first, like my house, repairs for my car and diapers for my son.. smile

Can I just say that this controller + DG-20 is the most fun I've ever had with a guitar or a C64. Sweet hot damn and jesus, my day is happy.

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

I'm not much of a video maker (or musician) but I'll see what I can do. smile

I'm also looking into getting these VSTs running in Ubuntu/WINE, I'll post any progress.

[edit] They're now running in WINE. smile

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

Hi!

Got the plug today. Really excited! smile
I'm struggling to get it to work in Reaper though...Every time I try to select Midi Output in the vst GUI it says the device is in use (I'm stuck on "none"). Any clues what to do? Thanks!

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

Btw, it works perfectly in Renoise! Can change the Midi output there.

In Reaper 3
1. Insert new virtual instrument on new track
2. Select the "Mono Synth VST (Total Kontrol)" VSTi
3. On the plugin, set Midi Hardware output in the plugin to your midi out (same as mssiah usually 1)
(important: do not set the track to send midi directly to the mssiah, let the plugin handle it!).
4. Enable Arm/Disarm button on your track

Well, the problem is I actually followed those instructions and canīt get pass number 3.. sad
Must be something wrong with my setup..

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

I'm not a Reaper user myself and my studio PC is down (cheap PSU damaged my motherboard and memory), I only got PC laptop and Mac at the moment hence work on Bassline stopped. I'm building new small PC in 1541 Disk Drive case and when done I will continue to work on more plugins and I will check Reaper issue for you.
I sold this plug to few Reaper users and it worked for them. Most likely problem is sound card related.

Gruso, both the VST and the standalone?  Anything needed besides WINE?

Sorry about your PC.

But a really awesome idea to put a PC in a 1541 disk drive case! Be sure to post some photos when done big_smile

Yeah, it looks like it's sound card related... Thanks, and sorry about your PC! Great idea with the drive case though! smile

Oh man, I knew I should have written down what I did!

I'm running them as standalone exes in WINE. They wouldn't run at first, but that may have been operator error (all a bit foggy now). Anyway, I assumed there were missing DLLs so fired up the VSTs in Windows and used "listdlls.exe" (free utility, google him) to determine which DLLs were in use. Then I stole them and added them to WINE. But I'm not sure all that was necessary, so don't go through the pain if you don't have to.

The one crucial part was installing ttf-mscorefonts. No text labels without that. smile

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

The VST plugin works really nicely with my Novation Remote 25SL keyboard. The knobs and switches automatically set themselves to correspond with the MonoSynth parameters, and all labeled as they should be, using the Automap program for Novation keyboards.

I like that sort of instant integration. No template files or setting up needed.

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

I've also spotted a few GUI inconsistencies and mis-labeling on the controller. Luke, if you're still working on this, and would like details of the errors, I can send them on to you.

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

Hi! The VST works fine, but when i load one of the presets it sounds different everytime.. anyone else having this problem? To me it seems like the mssiah cannot receive all the parameter changes that the VST is sending... I'm using an old Midisport 2x2 USB device (that green one)..

Any ideas ?

BTW. It's nice that you made a standalone version too!

I'm pretty sure the VST sends the parameters one at a time with a slight delay in between, just so that MSSIAH should be able to recieve them all. So that sounds weird, but I think I've had the same experience. Don't remember too good though.

Re: Mono Synthesizer Controller Vst and standalone

Yep Mssiah/C64 can't handle all the info at 1 time, plugin sending each parameter with delay in a stream. Without delay it didn't work at all. If you changing presets just give it two seconds for C64 to absorb all the info before playing notes or changing to another preset. Also try not to play when changing a lot parapeters at one time. It's a C64 handle with care smile

Where have you been? And how's it going with Bassline VST?
