It took me 5 evenings to do it, parts cost me something around 150. All parts from Ebay.

that commodore got rca phono output. like i said this is car reversing monitor and it comes with 2 phono inputs. monitor switches on automaticly when receiving any signal, but it needs 12v.

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

Does that LCD draw more power from C64 PSU ?
If yes, how would you modify one ?

This is so much more convenient to carry on gigs than schlepping LCD display...

I would love to install LCD in my C64 breadbin.

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

Cut the plastic off, glue screen frame to the C64 case, it had protectinon film so I stick mastic tape on top of it and used 2 part filler to fill any holes and fuck ups and then usual sanding and painting. wink

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

That metal bit around the screen is what I call frame

This is mastic tape also known as painters tape can be white or blue:

2 part filler (used for repairing cars or wood): you mix filler with hardner and it's drying in 2 minutes

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

can you solder the wires directly to the points at the C64C board instead of removing the DIN socket (like the AlphA mod describes)?

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

Hi,

Nice job ! Of course I ordered my own 3,5" monitor with rca inputs... Guess I have to built an adaptor cable or go straight to the insides of the C64 to get a RCA video out, right?...

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

Here's the pinout for the A/V socket:

http://radagast.bglug.ca/C64_svideo/c64_av_connector.gif

Use pins 4 and 2 for signal and ground respectively to get RCA video out.

Re: ANGEL-64 Mod

Hi,
I finally received my MSSIAH cartridge and, after burning one of my 8580 (f***ing mixer !) I got it all working with two 8580. I would say I'm not far from heaven... except for that display that won't take the whole screen. I have about 1/2 inch unused... And on a 3.5" display, that's a lot. Got any ideas on how to get a full screen display on those tiny LCDs ?
