SD Card Saving / Loading for MSSIAH, questions

Hi all, I am a new owner of a MSSIAH, I've owned a Prophet64 for a while. I'm interested in loading / saving my work with the MSSIAH using an SD Card device.

I've been following some of the threads here for info on loading and saving from an SD card, but there seems to be some disagreement.

It looks like the SD2IEC board reportedly works for some, and doesn't work for others. . . The C64TPC does not use a memory card, it connects to a PC through a serial connection. There's a 1541 Ultimate, but it only works with the Prophet and not the MSSIAH.

I may be wrong on these points, I just wanted to start a thread to try to make some sense of this all, as it doesn't seem like there is a stable solution yet. Or is there? My apologies if I am missing something. Thanks for any info, I love the MSSIAH so far!

Isn't it possible to save via midi sysex? Maybe only patches..?

Only got P64 as well, and I'm saving via an old 1541 ...

Re: SD Card Saving / Loading for MSSIAH, questions

Hey Greg.0, thanks for the reply. I guess I am a bit confused since the 1541-U appears to be a cartridge, as is the MSSIAH. How does it work with the MSSIAH? I saw a post that read "1541 Ultimate - Working Solution for Prophet64" but didn't see anything about MSSIAH.

Re: SD Card Saving / Loading for MSSIAH, questions

Mssiah has the same routine as the Prophet64 cartridge for load and save !
Read carefully about this other thread to know more about this solution.

Now, coming soon, there will be the 1541-U II, tests have to be realize.

Re: SD Card Saving / Loading for MSSIAH, questions

I've checked out some options and it seems that there is no real cheap ready-to-go solution out there.

The main options seem to be right now:

1541 ultimate is more expensive then the messiah itself though more features more than just load/save

uIEC/SD doesn't seem to work for everyone (according to other posts made here, correct me if I'm wrong)

SD2IEC comes in a unassembled form, not exactly plug&play.....

Seems like the older products like MMC64 all have been replaced with more wild featured expensive models...

If anyone has additions/othe suggetions please let us know....

Re: SD Card Saving / Loading for MSSIAH, questions

Hey Greg.0, what port does the 1541-U connect to? I'm revisiting this thread since I started looking in to finding an alternative to my real 1541, and am still not certain how the 1541-U works with MSSIAH. Could you please explain how you are using this with MSSIAH. Emphasis on *how* smile I'm trying to get my head around how you use two cartridges

Re: SD Card Saving / Loading for MSSIAH, questions

Hi zorkiii,

In stand alone mode, the 1541-U act like a real 1541... Only the IEC serial port is connected (and the mini usb for power).

You load *.D64 by the middle button of the 1541-U but you see nothing on screen because it's not connected to the cartridge port  (that why I explained it's better use one file on the root of the SD)

Hope you better understand, (maybe my English is not good too).
I can make a video, if I have time to...

I have a 1541U too, but not used it in standalone mode yet.  The manual is confusing.  A video would be really helpful!

Hey Zorkiii and RebornOnline,
