Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

I am happy to announce a new Load and Save device for the MSSIAH and Prophet64 versions.
Via the using of SDR it Loads and Saves on a Micro SD-Card. So it is possible to easily Load/Save from a SD Card.

Features:

- Loading/Saving from a MicroSD Card
- Up to 100 Saves / Slots per SD Card
- Easy to use
- Faster than a Floppy drive
- No need for a floppy drive anymore or any external PC
- perfect for live performances , no carrying of a laptop or Floppy drive needed anymore. (to say it again)

So it is the most portable, fastest and probably best Load/Save device for your Mssiah and Prophet64 Editions.

I will put up more info, schematics and order details within the next days.

stay tuned!!!

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

Sounds pretty sweet! I wonder what it will cost.

This is only for loading/saving MSSIAH/P64 data though, and won't work with other programs or be able to load programs themselves, right? If that were the case that would be cool, seeing as how I can't get my C64TPC to work with my laptop. hmm

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

Yeah - it was 1:31 German time when he posted it.  Wonder what he was doing up so late?...

I guess April fools day is a bit like Xmas to our firestARTer - he just can't sleep with excitement until he plays his little JOKE on us!!!  (although this DOES have every chance of being real, I guess)...  wink

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

I really think this device will be real ...

It's a double joke ...
This announcement comes just on April 1st, to make us believe THAT IS a joke... hmm
But actually not wink, and that's the trick.

firestARTer, devilish little joker !  big_smile

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

Haha, guys!! For some: April fools!!!!

But for who exactly? For those who thought it was a april fools joke! Haha, nice timing, wasn't it?

Well, i got the project really in the making and need just some finetuning. I will post a prototype video as soon as possible.

Some more info, regarding some questions:

It won't be possible to load other software with it. It is just a MSSIAH/P64 enhancement.
The difference between all other load/save devices is, that it is the fastest one, the most easy to use one (no messing around with D64 files etc) and the cheapest one (as far as i can say it now and as far as there is really demand for a production!!!)

I wasn't able to post earlier cause i've been to the Musikmesse ( Music-Fair ) in Frankfurt.

Any chance that this will be a simple "plug into expnasion port -----> USB" deal?

i'm all about USB these days.. i'm fed up with LPT and serial port stuff..

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

This card will be a standalone userport card, no connection at all  to a pc or anything else

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

Userport is so retarded, why not retrofitting USB to the C64 first and then add the SDR device?

Re: Announcement: New SDR Load/Save device

Why USB? To connect it to a PC again?

I try to avoid that and also SDR comes only through the Userport...

Hello,

I take the risk to be ridiculous and ask this question: finally, is this SDR load/save device a joke?
