Re: MMC2IEC commodore disk drive emulation device

Thanks for the info!  Is it me or is this just the BEST time ever to own a C64?!  So much cool stuff coming out for it all the time!

Question:  It says D64 read only.  How do you save using MSSIAH?  Is it a simple process?

Jaicen said he'd modify my 1351 mice and now he won't return them or even answer my emails.  True story...  sad

"Supports C64 kernel LOAD and SAVE functions."

i heard it had problems with P64 though, maybe not? i know the 1541-III wouldn't work for me.

Yeah - that's what's confusing me.  Does P64/MSSIAH use kernal saves?  My experience is that it has to be within a D64 image.  Cassu? big_smile

Re: MMC2IEC commodore disk drive emulation device

We've had that discussion already, P64 was using standard kernel save routines so I'd expect MSSIAH does as well (there's no speed loader or whatever built in). I just think the 1541-III needs the files to be within a D64 image to provide a proper filesystem for the C64?

Re: MMC2IEC commodore disk drive emulation device

My MSSIAH cartridge is still on its way within the post, so i have no idea does saving work MSSIAH -> MMC2IEC.

...and actually i dont really care about that, i just had to get some kind of system to emulate the 1541 with (my 5.25" floppy disks are starting to die!). MMC2IEC was cheap and seemed reliable.

And as i mentioned in the first post, it works like a dream. It even can be used in serial with 1541. The drive number is selected with jumpers (not included).

One minus is that it needs external power supply. ...Not included.

EDIT; MSSIAH HAS LANDED! smile
