C64TPC - tested working with MSSIAH

http://www.cancarpet.com/saymantek/images/c64tpc2.jpg

Just thought I'd let y'all know that after some correspondence with  its creator, C64TPC has received a software update and is now working with MSSIAH/P64.  There is also an indication that future software updates will load and save files directly from a windows folder (i.e. - you won't have to work from within the constraints of a D64 image file).

So, I cannot recommend this thing enough - cheap, easy to install, reliable and it even looks cute atop your C64!  big_smile

http://www.cancarpet.com/saymantek/c64tpc_en.html

[edit] Have tested the whole MSSIAH suite now, even though I don't use them (Monosynth, Bassline, etc) and all loading and saving fine.  I have also hooked it up to a 9v battery, which is kinda funky and works great!

More now available again on Ebay:  http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/aeymur

That is really good news - both that MSSIAH support is there and that the dev is responsive to feedback!

@ Slashviper.  He may not have publicly uploaded the new .exe yet.  Here is the one I am using (just replace the existing exe - no need to reinstall):

@ dschohennes.  Sorry, I have no idea.

Hi Mr. Viper,

I'm using it with MSSIAH.  **You have to work within a D64 image at the moment**, but Ahmet is looking into a way whereby you can access MSSIAH files directly from a Windows folder.

So, create a blank D64 image (you can do this with the C64TPC software), mount it to drive 8 (so it shows the green light) and then you can load and save.

Let me know if you're still having probs, and I will create a step by step walkthrough or vid if you like. smile

Hehe - don't be so hard on yourself!  I've been messing around with the 1541 Ultimate for a few weeks now (which is kinda the same in principle) so I had a head start!  I actually prefer using this to my 1541 Ultimate and it cost like 1/5 of the price!  I feel an Ebay auction for a 1541 Ultimate (& a couple of 1581 drices) coming!!! smile

Re: C64TPC - tested working with MSSIAH

*UPDATE*  V1.1 software update available. - DIRECT SAVE TO WINDOWS FOLDER.

http://www.cancarpet.com/saymantek/c64t … _setup.exe

V1.1 software update means that you can now load and save DIRECTLY to a Windows folder without having to use a D64 image at all (happy now Slashviper)?! big_smile

E.G. for Sequencer users, this means that rather than being limited to just 8 x .ARR songs per disk/disk image, you now have practically unlimited space to save your files!  It also means you can easily delete .ARR files (from within Windows) without exiting MSSIAH and then deleting them via the disk manager or other external program.

Future updates should see the addition of directly saving over existing files, deletion of files from within the C64TPC interface and a progress indicator bar for file saving.

Any questions, please visit the website where you can find the creator's contact details:

Re: C64TPC - tested working with MSSIAH

I should add the information ahmet gave me:

I used GTK+ library for this in the beginning of
project. But I can't release Linux port of software until now for timeless.
Anyway, I will test with wine on Linux. I will notify you from result after
short time.

Re: C64TPC - tested working with MSSIAH

Ahmet is a rad guy.  i've been running his C64TPC software on my Win98 machine but at first it wouldn't work.  i contacted him and he cooked up a patch for me within 24hrs that made it possible to run his software on win versions below XP.  pretty cool guy indeed.

Mmm - yes - that would be nice! big_smile  Could the C64 supply enough power (9v DC)?

Same. I think it said there were 60 left, so there should be plenty to go round. They're about as cheap as I could hope for, too. big_smile

I got mine yesterday! It's quite small (a good thing)... the pictures made it seem larger. I haven't tested it out yet though.

Not having it plugged into the wall would be great.

Like this?

Yep - exactly like that (though I had a couple already made from other gizmo's)! smile
