diy: FS Midi interface excluding dual d-sub connectors?

Hey Firestarter. I'm contemplating building myself a 2nd midi interface this christmas following the schematics on your website.. For my 2nd interface I dont see myself needing the "d-sub to the joystick ports" feature so I'm wondering if it'd be safe to just simply exclude the connections from PIC18F452 to both DS1267-100's ??

Seems simple, shouldn't it work?

cheers,
Gossi

I'd give it a try... RA4-5 are left open in the schematics as well, guess it's gonna be OK just to ignore the DS pot chip circuit snippet...

Yes, you can simply remove the DS chip with all its components. All the rest will still work fine.

anyone know where to get blank proto boards to slide into the cartridge port and would fit a cartridge case?  not the eprom stuff either because it isnt blank and is already burned.
